A brand new dancing school is coming to Southwick and North Bradley, aimed at teaching children from babies and toddlers up to 17 years and above the joys of tap and musical theatre.
Fun-tastic Performers is the creation of Clarrissa Busson, a professional dancer and performer who trained at the Italia conti Academy of Theatre Arts and enjoyed a career performing all over the country, including working as characters and parade performer at Disneyland Paris.
“Fun-tastic Performers is open to children of all ages,” explained Clarrissa. “I am so looking forward to sharing with them the joy of music and movement that is available to absolutely anyone.
“I have been dancing since the age of three, and singing, dancing and acting since the age of five, so I’ve always been on stage and loved performing arts. The chance to pass this on to a whole new generation of performers is just so exciting!
“We have a music and movement session dedicated to under 4s. The tap sessions are divided into age groups from 3 years, 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13+ years and adults 17+. What’s more, there is also a choir for children 7-12 years.
“In addition, my musical theatre classes that will be launching in June 2024 for age groups 6-8 years, 9-12 years and 13+.”
Clarrissa explained that depending on which class they are taking, the children will learn a variety of skills. These range from rhythm, coordination and creative style in the tap classes, to singing, performance skills and characterisation in the musical theatre classes.
“The under 4s class is dedicated to the basics of musicality, singing and movement,” she explained. “Above everything else, however, I want my classes to be fun for all to enjoy!”
Plus, at the end of each term, the children will enjoy a life performance to give their parents and carers a wonderful opportunity to see them perform.
