FearFree brings together services for victims of Domestic Abuse and their families, providing a full range of services with a single, easy to use access point. Due to their accessibility and range of victims they support, FearFree were chosen to be Goughs charity partner from April 2023 – March 2024.
Over the course of the year, employees at Goughs raised in excess of £6,500 for the charity through a variety of fundraising efforts. The team took part in a 25km walk through the Cotswolds, two daring team members completed a skydive, others took on the Bath Half and other events included a pub quiz, a bake-off competition and a raffle of generously donated gifts at the annual Christmas party.
Jessica Gay, Head of Fundraising at Trowbridge-based FearFree, said, “We want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Goughs Solicitors for supporting us this year. It’s been inspiring to see everyone’s commitment at the firm to support our work, which is often deemed hidden and taboo, helping us raise that vital awareness of our services, break down stigmas and raise life changing funds to help families access our service.
“From ingenious office-based fundraisers like the Sun Flower Comp to long distance sponsored hikes and our biannual skydive, the team has thrown themselves into supporting us and we couldn’t be more grateful. On top of this, the Family Law team has offered their specialist support to our clients and they now volunteer to run a joint monthly legal clinic for any client to access free legal advice.”
To continue their commitment to FearFree, Goughs have set up a free monthly Family Law clinic with the charity. The mutually-beneficial partnership has been set up to truly support the communities in which they operate.
