News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Bath-based housing association and housebuilder, Curo, has sponsored Keynsham Town FC’s under 13s team, providing them with some much-needed new kit.

The team recently celebrated their final fixture of the season proudly displaying their new attire.

Under-13s Coach, Paul Collings, thanked Curo for the sponsorship, commenting that, “The lads look incredibly smart as our 2023-24 season draws to a close.”

While the football field is where this partnership kicks off, Curo is continuing to invest heavily in Keynsham’s future.

The housing association’s new development on Bath Road will see two brand-new sports pitches delivered. This includes one pitch that will be given over to Two Rivers CofE Primary School and one that will be open for community use – providing budding athletes with a space to hone their skills and fostering the next generation of Keynsham Town FC players.

The latest proposals seek permission for 208 new homes, 30% of which will be affordable housing, and new green space open to both existing and new residents, which alongside the pitches, will include orchards and community allotments.

All the affordable homes at Bath Road will be available either for subsidised social rent through the council’s lettings system ‘HomeChoice’ or through the Shared Ownership part-rent, part-buy scheme.

Shared Ownership helps buyers take their first step on the housing ladder by requiring a lower deposit and smaller mortgage than buying on the open market. People interested in this option can register their interest and check their eligibility with Curo’s Shared Ownership Team.

Lisa Howells, Curo’s Sales Director, emphasised the importance of community partnerships, commented, “Partnering with Keynsham Town FC to support the under 13’s team has been incredibly rewarding for us. Witnessing the enthusiasm and talent of the next generation of footballers is really inspiring.

“We hope that by providing new sports pitches, we will be able to bring even more fun and opportunities to the Keynsham community. While the homes at Bath Road aren’t available just yet, they will be showcased on our sales website soon, so I encourage everyone interested to keep a look out for updates.”
