Children aged four to seven from Marksbury Primary School near Bath brought the Christmas story to life last week (Tuesday 10 December).
The event, held at Marksbury Village Hall, featured 35 children from Reception class to Year 2 who sang, danced and acted out the nativity story. The small and close-knit nature of the Church of England School meant that every child had a speaking part, from donkeys to angels, shepherds and kings, and even a tree!
Julie Player, Head Teacher of Marksbury Church of England Primary School, said, “It was an amazing nativity performance; all rehearsals took place within two weeks. Children spoke clearly and the older children learned many lines and spoke with confidence.
“They also managed to learn each other’s so that they could prompt when needed. Well done to Miss Moore who taught all of the singing, acting and choreography!”
The nativity service was followed by well-deserved refreshments for all.
