Year 6 children from Moorlands Schools Federation have been building partnerships in the community through visits to The Orangery care home recently. The classes have taken part in two visits over the last term, during which they have read, played games, written and drawn pictures with the residents.
“The whole Year 6 team was really proud of our Moorlands children for being such great ambassadors for the school during our visits to The Orangery,” explained Emily Bone, Year 6 teacher and Junior School Leader.

“To see the interactions between the pupils and the residents, and to see the light that the children brought into the residents’ days, was both charming and inspiring.”
Moorlands will be continuing to build partnerships in the community as the year goes on, not only with care homes but also with local nurseries.
