As part of its fundraising campaign for 2025, the Avon Valley Railways Heritage Trust is holding the first of monthly wine tastings taking in the World of Wine in 2025 on Friday, 21 Feb 2025 from 2.30-4.30pm at Bitton Station.
Whether you’re looking to expand your wine knowledge or simply enjoy a fun time with friends, the Avon Valley Railway’s Discover Wine Intro Event promises an unforgettable experience. Spend a couple of hours in a historic railway carriage, in the company of an experienced speaker, practicing how to find your way around a glass of wine and learn how to taste wines like a pro!
You’ll taste three whites, a rose and two reds, learn a little bit about some of the key grape varieties, the main wine-making techniques, which countries are perfectly suited to wine production and, most importantly, about what you enjoy drinking and why.
You will be taught how to taste wine, why some wines are so much more expensive than others and what some common labelling terms mean.
If you fancy a little wine taster session, this is just the ticket! Fun, friendly, and a great way to learn a little more about your favourite drink.
This event will include tasting samples of six carefully selected wines, wine notes and handouts, and a two-hour interactive presentation, with Q&A, led by our wine tutor.
