The creative team behind The Egg’s hugely popular Christmas show, Snow Mouse – presents Midnight Mole, which returns to The Roper Room at Bath’s Egg Theatre from Friday 10th January to Sunday 9th February. A heart-warming adventure full of puppetry and music, the production is created for younger audiences aged between six months to four years old.
With a nod to Chekhov, Midnight Mole audiences can join Madame Ranevsky in her favourite place, the Cherry Orchard, where tonight she’s saying goodbye to it one last time before moving house. Under the light of the silvery moon, she plays with her nocturnal friends before Midnight Mole bursts from his mound to join her.
With a fascination for found objects, Mole leads her on an adventure of rediscovery, above and below ground, which allows her to see her orchard afresh and embark on her new journey.
Midnight Mole is presented by The Egg and performed by Nikki Warwick, who originated the performance. Alongside her work as an actor, Nikki has performed extensively in aerial circus, cabaret and physical theatre.
Nikki was artistic director of Puppetual Motion, a circus-cabaret company. Her many theatre credits include: Hetty Feather at London’s Vaudeville and Duke of York’s Theatres and on international tour; Snow Mouse for The Egg and Travelling Light, also in the role of rehearsal director since 2019; Yana and the Yeti for Pickled Image/Nordland Visual Theatre; Trolls for Pickled Image and Tobacco Factory Theatres and The Musicians of Bremen for the Rude Mechanical Theatre Company.
