Bath-based Charity TeenYoga is running a series of free yoga classes for young people aged 14+ throughout February. The classes, which are funded by the Quartet Community Foundation, will take place at Stillpoint in Bath on 2, 9 and 16 February from 1-2.30pm.
The sessions are designed to provide some time for fun, peace of mind and chill sessions in the middle of Bath. The teacher, Becky, is a DBS cleared, trauma informed, SEND and LGTBQ+ friendly yoga therapist who is insured and has been delivering yoga to teens for over a decade.

“We know from parents and teenagers, as well as shocking medical statistics, show that young people need support and are feeling tremendously pressurised both by school and peers,” explained master yoga teacher Charlotta Martinus. “We have run yoga classes in secondary schools over the past 20 years in Bath and have found that many young people really enjoy the classes, as well as having a really good laugh and getting to know new people.
“Our teen yoga classes have evolved over time to take into consideration the changing needs of the adolescent body and brain. We make sure that the young people are having fun first and foremost – we ask them to bring playlists, we play games and eat healthy snacks afterwards. We also make sure that there is time for a good check-in with them so they can get anything off their chest before we start. But most of all there are slot of giggles!

“Very specifically, we can give them ways to subtly change their lives so they can sleep better, experience more and better connection with those around them, and generally thrive rather than cope in life.”
