Heywood Prep pupils become part of the world’s largest children’s choir

Heywood Prep

Heywood Prep in Corsham was delighted to send 64 children to the O2 Arena in London to perform as part of the ‘Young Voices’ choir, joining 8,500 other primary school children in what is truly a spectacular event – the world’s largest children’s choir.

Founded to inspire a lifelong love of music, Young Voices believes that participation in music-making enhances children’s wellbeing, boosts self-confidence and fosters a strong sense of community.

Head of Music, Mrs Williamson, reflected on the experience, saying, “This was an opportunity that our Year 5 and 6 pupils will cherish for a lifetime, and I feel privileged to have shared it with them.”

The children found the experience unforgettable and were incredibly proud to have been part of such an inspiring event. Singing alongside thousands of other young voices in an arena was both exhilarating and inspiring.

One of Heywood’s Year 6 pupils, Eleanor, shared her excitement, saying, “It was amazing to sing with so many other children and feel like we were part of something huge. I’ll never forget the energy in the arena!”
