Award-winning musical comedian Tamar Broadbent is coming to Bath Comedy Festival with her brand new comedy cabaret about pregnancy, new motherhood and a baby pumpkin. Plus One is on Saturday 5th April, 11am and 7.30pm at the Ring O Bells.

Four days after having a baby, Tamar nearly went mad. She knew motherhood would be tough, but she didn’t realise insanity could strike quite so quickly. After clawing her way back by ditching the breast pump and adding some dance breaks, she created a show full of funny, smart and satirical songs, weaved together with her personal tale of fertility tests, failed birth plans and the impressive feat of giving up wine for nine months.
What if your baby can’t breastfeed? And you’re in a hospital where saying “Formula” is like saying” Voldemort”?

Plus One is a hilarious and heartfelt look at how the world pressures women to have babies and then tries to persuade them they are doing every part of it wrong.

The 11am performance of Plus One is a baby-friendly show, where parents can feel comfortable bringing along their U-12 month baby to enjoy the action! (Or snooze through it.) It’s been important to Tamar to give parents who might otherwise be marooned at home for the festival a place to come and enjoy a relatable and entertaining mid-week show!
Tamar is a comedian, writer and improviser. She has toured the world with her musical comedy shows, of which Best Life appeared at SoHo Playhouse NYC and then toured with Virgin Voyages in the USA from 2021-2023. She has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show and Fresh From the Fringe and has written for Sketchtopia.
