Moorlands School receives Equal Access School away for girls’ football

Moorlands

Moorlands Schools Federation in Bath is delighted to have received an Equal Access School award from the Football Association and its partner Barclays.

The letter which accompanies the plaque, signed by Baroness Sue Campbell DBE, Women’s Football Director for the FA, says, ‘On behalf of The Football Association and Barclays, I would like to thank you for making a difference in young people’s lives by providing equal access to girls’ football at your school.’

Girls’ football has been an important part of the sports provision at Moorlands for a number of years, and the girls’ teams have seen lots of success in that time, including winning the B&NES Girls’ Football Cup.

Louisa Sellars, Executive Headteacher at Moorlands, said, “We have been proud of our girls’ football for some time, and it’s wonderful to see the efforts of everyone who has contributed to this provision recognised with this very special award.

“I’m personally looking forward to seeing our footballers inspire future generations as they have no doubt been inspired themselves by the success of England Women in Europe and on the global stage.”
