Lee Browne and his daughter enjoy a perfect day out at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon
How excited were we! My three year old daughter and I had manager to get tickets to see Bing’s Birthday at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon, and not only was it her first theatre visit, she is a huge Bing fan too!
With the sun shining and the trip to Swindon taking no time at all, we were already in a great mood when the lovely staff at the theatre gave us the warmest of welcomes – they seemed just as excited as my daughter about the show!

We had arrived early – we were super excited – to there was time for refreshments and ice cream from the theatre’s well stocked shop before we took our seats and waited for the arrival of Bing.
The show itself was just brilliant, with my daughter unable to take her eyes off Bing and his friends, who before we had only see on television. The story followed the adventures of Bing’s friends Sula, Pando, Coco, Amma and, of coarse, Flop, as they set about arranging a surprise Birthday party for Bing. There were catchy songs throughout, including plenty of audience participation and a game of pass the balloon around the audience, which the children (and some of the grown-ups…) loved. Best of all was watching my daughter dancing along to it all and having the best time.
After the show, there was time for a pizza, with my daughter not able to stop talking about the show throughout the meal, all the way back and even at home, before she finally fell asleep tired out but very happy indeed. All in all, a real 10 out of 10 day out.
