Bath Rugby to host a free taster session for girls and ladies of all abilities

Bath Rugby

As excitement builds for the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup on home soil, Bath RFC is hosting a Girls’ Rugby Open Session on Saturday 5 July at 11am, and it’s completely free to attend!

Held at the Lambridge Training Ground in Bath, this taster event is open to girls aged 9+ and ladies of all abilities.

From Minis to Juniors, to a thriving Ladies’ section, Bath RFC is more than just a club… It’s a home for players of all ages, abilities and backgrounds – whether you’re picking up a rugby ball for the first time or returning to the sport after time away. With plenty of opportunities to get involved both on and off the pitch, there’s a place for everyone at Bath RFC.

“We’re passionate about getting more girls and women into rugby,” says Kelly Horton from the Bath RFC Junior Girls Coaching Team. “This is a chance to give rugby a go in a fun, friendly environment – no experience necessary.”

What’s on at the Taster Session…

  • Rugby Skills for All Levels – Whether you’re new or experienced, there’s something for you.
  • T1 Rugby Taster – A fast, non-contact format that’s perfect for fitness, fun, and inclusion.
  • Meet the Coaches and Players – Get inspired and learn more about the pathways on offer.
  • Relaxed Social Time – A chance to connect with other families, volunteers, and team members.

Bath RFC is proud to offer not only playing opportunities, but also a wide range of volunteering roles for those who want to be part of the rugby community in other ways – from coaching and supporting match days, to admin and events.

A Call to Local Businesses

As the club continues to grow, Bath RFC is also welcoming conversations with local companies interested in getting involved through sponsorship opportunities. This is an exciting time to support grassroots sport and be part of a club that’s making a real difference in the community.

Whether you’re a small business or a larger enterprise, Bath RFC would love to talk through the many ways you can be part of its journey and connect with a passionate and engaged audience.

And it doesn’t stop there. The club is also keen to partner with local schools to help grow the game for girls, with outreach opportunities and support available for developing rugby in the school setting.

So whether you’re a player, a parent, a teacher or simply curious about the sport, come along to Lambridge on 5 July and see what makes Bath RFC a truly special place to be.
