The celebrated Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof, winner of this year’s Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, is coming to the Bristol Hippodrome for a strictly limited run from 26 – 30 August 2025 as part of its first UK tour in over a decade.
Following its sold-out West End run at the Barbican Theatre, this acclaimed revival has been hailed by critics as ‘a simply glorious revival’ (The Times) and ‘a masterclass in balancing innovation and tradition’ (Daily Telegraph). Audiences in Bristol can expect a powerful, moving, and joyful theatrical experience featuring timeless songs such as If I Were a Rich Man, Tradition, and Sunrise, Sunset.
Leading the cast is Matthew Woodyatt as Tevye, joined by Jodie Jacobs as Golde and Olivier Award nominee Beverley Klein as Yente.
Directed by Jordan Fein (Oklahoma! at the Young Vic) with choreography by Julia Cheng (Cabaret) and design by Tony Award-winner Tom Scutt, this revival captures both the heart and grit of Sholem Aleichem’s classic tale of tradition, family, and change.
Set in 1905 in the small village of Anatevka, Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of Tevye, a Jewish milkman striving to preserve his family’s traditions in the face of shifting social and political tides. As his daughters challenge the old ways, Tevye must decide whether to hold firm or embrace the new world unfolding around him.
