Frome course helps women turn business ideas into reality this September

Edventure

With the children heading back to school this September, it might be the perfect moment to dust off that business idea you’ve been dreaming about. Edventure Frome is running its third Enterprising Women course — designed especially for local women ready to take the first steps towards turning an idea into reality.

Starting Thursday 11th September 2025, the course runs every Thursday from 9.15am to 2.45pm at the Edventure Hub in Frome, finishing on 22nd January 2026 (with breaks for half term and Christmas). The timings mean you can drop the kids off, focus on your own goals during the day, and still be there for school pick-up.

You don’t need any formal qualifications — just an idea you’d like to explore and the motivation to make things happen. Over the weeks, you’ll gain practical skills like business and financial planning, branding and marketing, while also building confidence, resilience and clarity about what you want from life. There’s also dedicated space for reflection — something many mums say they rarely get in the busyness of family life.

Past participants have gone on to launch workshops, open online shops, create marketing campaigns and rally community support for their projects. Many also found a supportive network of women who continue to encourage each other long after the course ends.

The Enterprising Women course is free for Somerset residents on incomes below £25,000 or in priority support groups, thanks to Somerset Council funding. For others, the course costs £880, with support available if cost is a barrier — simply email email hidden; JavaScript is required.

Spaces are limited, so early application is recommended. Find out more or enrol at edventurefrome.org/enterprisingwomen.
