Year 13 pupils at King Edward’s School, Bath have been celebrating some outstanding A-Level results, with a remarkable 89% of all entries at A*-B, one of the school’s highest ever returns. 61% of grades were at A* or A, with 25% at A*. The overall pass rate was 100%.
Almost 40% of the cohort achieved only A* or A grades, with 33 pupils gaining 2 or more A*s, including four pupils with four each.

12 subjects achieved a 100% A*-B rate, with KES continuing to buck a well-documented national trend of declining numbers in Arts and Modern Languages with well over 60 entries in these areas, more than 70% of which were at A* or A.
Headmaster, Martin Boden, commented, “These wonderful results are a just reward for a very talented group of pupils who have consistently shone in so many different areas outside the classroom, as well as in the academic domain. I am delighted for everyone – pupils, parents and staff – who have given so much over the years and who have seen those efforts rewarded with these fantastic outcomes.

“I wish all of our Year 13 Leavers the best of luck on the next stage of their education as they progress along different pathways – including a wide range of universities in the UK and abroad, Art Foundation courses, Degree Apprenticeships, Conservatoires and more. I have no doubt that they will thrive on their journeys and look forward to hearing news of their success in the future.”
