Lawn Manor Academy in Swindon celebrated the achievements of its Year 11 pupils this week as they collected their GCSE results, alongside Year 10 pupils who took their Physics exam a year early.
Russell Langdown, Head of School, praised the students’ resilience and dedication, saying, “Today, we celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 pupils as they receive their GCSE results, as well as Year 10 pupils who undertook their GCSE in Physics one year early. These outcomes are a testament not only to their academic ability but to their extraordinary resilience, determination, and adaptability in the face of unprecedented challenges.”
He acknowledged the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on students’ education, saying, “This cohort experienced significant disruption to their education during their formative years. However, despite these obstacles, our pupils have shown commendable perseverance and maturity, and we are incredibly proud of them.”
This year’s results showcased a wide range of successes across numerous subjects, from Further Maths to Bengali and Polish. Many pupils have secured places in sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships, and training programmes.
Russell added, “Beyond the numerical outcomes, these results represent personal triumphs and the culmination of years of hard work, supported by dedicated staff and families.”
Pupil highlights

Reece achieved 9 GCSEs including Grade 9 in Maths, Grade 7 in Spanish, and Grade 8 in Computer Science. He will study at Cirencester College.

Aysha achieved Grade 9s in Religious Studies and Combined Science, and Grade 8 in Geography. She will study Law, Economics & Politics at Cirencester College with ambitions to become a corporate lawyer.

Eddie, a Year 10 pupil, achieved Grade 7 in Physics and will serve as Head Pupil next year.

Zeccai will study Music, Film, and Media at New College.

Micky will pursue Business, Economics, and Computer Science at New College.
