Sheldon School in Chippenham is celebrating an exceptional year for its Post-16 students, achieving the strongest progress in the school’s history with a record-breaking Value-Added score of +0.58. This means that, on average, each student achieved more than half a grade higher than expected based on their prior attainment.
Almost all students secured the grades required for their first-choice university or apprenticeship placements, setting them on a path to exciting futures. Outstanding outcomes included a 12% rate of A grades*, more than doubling last year’s figures, and 99% of all entries awarded grades A–E*. These achievements reflect the dedication and commitment of both students and staff.

Headteacher, Pete Lynch, said, “Our students have shown remarkable dedication, resilience and ambition, truly living out our school value of being the best you. Our value-added score of 0.58 – the highest in Sheldon’s history – demonstrates that every student, whatever their ability, achieved beyond national expectations.
“This is a testament to their determination and the unwavering commitment of our exceptional Sixth Form tutor team and teachers.”

Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, Eugene Spiers, added, “Our students worked incredibly hard and showed real resilience and commitment to achieve these results.
