Bath City Farm is celebrating 30 years at the heart of the community by launching a special fundraising appeal to secure its future.
Since 1995 the 37-acre site in Whiteway has been an oasis of green space, supporting the health, wellbeing and education of more than 1,300 people each year. Always free to visit, the farm combines a working farm and haven for wildlife with a wide range of programmes that help children, young people and adults build skills and confidence.

Therapeutic and vocational activities in animal care, conservation, horticulture, hospitality, cookery and crafts provide opportunities for progression, whether that means improving mental health, returning to education or re-entering the workplace.
Now Bath City Farm has launched its £30,000 Birthday Appeal – aiming to raise £1,000 for every year of its life as a charity. The money will help address funding challenges and meet growing demand for its services.
Farm Director Brendan said: “For 30 years the Farm has had a lasting impact on so many lives but now we face unprecedented times financially. We are fighting to keep the current provision of community services available; we need your help. If you feel able, please give generously to support the next 30 years of high impact community work at Bath City Farm.”
Among the projects run at the farm are:
-
Little Farmers – supporting young children and their carers through play, craft and nature activities that aid development and confidence
-
Wild Acres Alternative Provision – outdoor-based learning for young people who need additional support outside mainstream education
-
Roots to Health – improving mental wellbeing through horticulture, animal care and cookery
-
Roots to Work – helping people who are long-term unemployed to gain skills, confidence and routes back into training, volunteering or employment
Bath City Farm is also reminding supporters that every pound counts. It costs around £1,450 per day to run the farm and its projects, feed and care for the animals, and maintain the 37-acre site. Donations, whether big or small, make a huge difference to the work the charity can do.
