Anyone interested in a career working with children – whether just starting out, returning to work, or looking to take the next step – is invited to Wiltshire Council’s Early Years and Wraparound Childcare Careers Event in Salisbury.

The free event takes place on Tuesday 14 October, from 10am to 2pm, at Five Rivers Health & Wellbeing Centre, Hulse Road, Salisbury (SP1 3NR).

Visitors will have the chance to speak directly with local childcare providers, find out more about the different roles available in Early Years and Wraparound Childcare, and learn about the training and support on offer. Wiltshire’s Family Hub team will also be on hand to explain how they support both families and professionals across the county.

A wide range of organisations will be taking part, including

  • Brambles Outdoor Group,
  • Centre Parcs,
  • First Friends Day Nursery,
  • TNB Garrison Early Years and Play,
  • Tops Day Nurseries,
  • St Martin’s Primary School,
  • PH ActiveEd,
  • Salisbury Cathedral School,
  • Wiltshire Family Hubs,
  • Wiltshire College,
  • JobCentre+ Salisbury, and others.

As well as meeting employers and training providers, families can enjoy free stay-and-play activities offered by the Family Hubs team throughout the day.

Cllr Jon Hubbard, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with different teams and learn more about what it’s like to work in early years.

“Whether you’re just starting out or considering a change in direction, this session is a great chance to discover if this path is right for you. Early years is an incredibly rewarding area to work in – you’ll be helping to shape young lives, support families, and make a real difference every day.”
