Pitton Primary School in Wiltshire has marked an incredible milestone – its 175th anniversary – with a day of celebrations that brought together generations of pupils, families and staff past and present.

On 10 October, the village school welcomed the local community to join in the festivities, with tea, a celebratory cake, music from the school choir, and a chance to explore photos and memories from across the decades. Visitors, including John Glen MP, were also able to watch as a special time capsule was buried for future generations to discover.

Headteacher Emma Wilkinson gave a heartfelt speech, reflecting on the school’s proud history and its special place at the heart of the Pitton community. Each visitor received a commemorative 175-year mug as a keepsake from the day.

Set in the beautiful village of Pitton near Salisbury, Pitton Primary is a small, nurturing school with a strong family ethos and close ties to its community. It offers a rich and varied curriculum where children are encouraged to be creative, confident and kind, and to develop a lifelong love of learning.
