Families are invited to enjoy some spooky half-term fun this Halloween by joining the annual Trowbridge Pumpkin Trail, running from Saturday 25 October to Sunday 2 November.
The popular event will see 34 individually decorated pumpkins displayed in shops and businesses across Trowbridge town centre, each with its own creative twist – from spooky and circus-themed designs to wedding and holiday-inspired creations.

Trail maps will guide families on a fun Halloween adventure of discovery. Digital maps can be downloaded from the Trowbridge Chamber website, while a limited number of printed maps are available from The Toy Shop in Castle Street, Roast & Toast Café in Market Street, and the Trowbridge Visitor Centre.
Each pumpkin display will feature a competition number in its window. The challenge is to add up all the numbers and email the total to email hidden; JavaScript is required for the chance to win prizes including:
-
A light-up Christmas wreath and games from Dunelm
-
Family ticket to A Winter’s Tail at Trowbridge Old Town Hall

Carey Tesler, Chair of the Trowbridge Chamber, said, “The Trowbridge Pumpkin Trail is one of the most popular events on the Chamber’s calendar and always creates such a strong community spirit. It’s going to be wonderful to see so many families and visitors walking around Trowbridge with their Trail Maps and discovering all the businesses in town.
“During half term week Trowbridge will become a sea of pumpkins, and we’re always amazed by the creativity and effort from the businesses which take up the challenge and decorate their shop windows especially for the trail.”
The Trowbridge Chamber, a community interest company with over 220 business members across the region, is one of the largest business membership groups of its kind in Wiltshire.
Most of the pumpkins on display will be decorated whole rather than carved, allowing them to be eaten and enjoyed after the event. With an estimated 22 million pumpkins thrown away each year in the UK, organisers are encouraging families to put their leftovers to good use.
