Dorothy House Hospice Care is inviting families, friends and supporters to come together in a celebration of courage, compassion and community this December.

On Saturday 6 December, Bath’s Beauford Square will host the Fire & Lego Walk, a special event designed to unite people in support of those living with life-limiting illness, grief and loss.

Dorothy House cares for people and families at some of the most difficult moments in life. The charity also works across local communities, offering counselling, bereavement support and creative ways to help people feel less alone.

Whether you have been personally supported by the Hospice, are remembering someone special, or simply want to stand with others in your community, this event is open to everyone.

The Firewalk, for those aged 18 and over, offers a chance to take on a powerful challenge that symbolises strength and bravery. Meanwhile, the Lego Walk is suitable for all ages and celebrates resilience, creativity and a sense of fun.

Both walks encourage participants to step forward with purpose, showing support for the families who rely on Dorothy House every day.

There will also be a Donation Drop and Dedication Christmas Tree in Beauford Square. Visitors can bring along pre-loved items for the Dorothy House charity shops, or leave a personal message of remembrance, love or encouragement on the tree.

The event forms part of the Hospice’s Life Lines campaign, which aims to raise £500,000 before the end of the year. This funding will help ensure that children, young people and families continue to receive vital counselling and bereavement support. Just £150 can provide almost five hours of child psychotherapy or counselling.

Every step taken at the Fire & Lego Walk helps Dorothy House continue to be a lifeline for families when they need it most.
