Bath charity First Steps is inviting local people to join its Board of Trustees and play a part in transforming the lives of children and families across the city.
For more than 30 years, First Steps has been supporting families in Twerton, Moorlands and beyond through quality childcare, early education and family services that help to reverse cycles of poverty. The charity’s mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive, be themselves and live life to the full.
Now, First Steps is looking to strengthen its board with new trustees who share its commitment to improving outcomes for children under five – particularly those with special educational needs – and their families.
“We’re looking for people who are passionate about our community and driven by our values,” said Chief Executive Roz Lambert. “Whether you’re a parent in Twerton or Moorlands, have experience raising a child with special educational needs, or bring professional expertise in areas such as governance, HR, property or technology, we’d love to hear from you.”
Trustees play a vital role in leading the charity and supporting its senior leadership team. First Steps is particularly keen to hear from people from minority backgrounds, as it seeks to ensure that the charity’s leadership reflects the diversity of the families it serves.
