Pupils at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Chippenham enjoyed a joyful end to term with a series of festive celebrations that brought the whole school community together.
The highlight of the season was a lively performance of Born in a Barn, with pupils shining on stage and delighting families, staff and friends. The production proved a real crowd-pleaser, with plenty of festive spirit – and even a few happy tears in the audience.
The school’s Christmas Fair was another big success, featuring Santa’s grotto, jolly jars, a bottle tombola, festive games and a performance from the Young Voices Choir. Families came together to enjoy the celebrations, reflecting the strong sense of community at the heart of the school.

Lucy Buckland, headteacher at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, said, “It has been wonderful to see our pupils throw themselves into Christmas. From the nativity to carols and the Christmas Fair, the children have celebrated the season with joy, creativity, and a true sense of faith and community. A huge thank you also goes to our PTA for helping make these celebrations so special.”
Helen Taylor, CEO of the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust, added, “The festive events at St Mary’s reflect the school’s strong Catholic ethos and its commitment to the local community. It has been inspiring to see pupils embrace the Christmas season with energy, faith, and a spirit of togetherness.”
