Hayesdown First School pupils took to one of Frome’s most famous stages, performing their Nativity at the iconic Cheese and Grain – a venue that has welcomed artists such as Paul McCartney and the Foo Fighters. In total, 240 children brought the Christmas story to life with a modern twist.
Years One to Four performed a vibrant mix of drama and updated festive classics, including a solo take on Sweet Child o’ Mine and a sparkling rendition of A Sky Full of Stars, before closing with an energetic version of December 1963 (Oh What a Night).
Julia Battersby, headteacher, said, “The children experienced what it was like to sing, dance and act at the biggest venue in Frome – and they all shone like stars! It was a superb performance by everyone – well done Hayesdown!”
