Bath families are invited to set sail on an underwater adventure this February as the Archaeo-Heritage Film Festival returns with a programme inspired by nautical archaeology.

Into the Depths runs from 5–8 February at Burdall’s Yard on Anglo Terrace in Bath. The festival is teaming up with organisations including the Nautical Archaeology Society, Time Team and a number of local museums to offer screenings, workshops and hands-on activities.
The family programme features two much-loved animated favourites, complete with crafts and introductions designed to bring archaeology to life for younger audiences.
Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists – Saturday 7 February, 11am

Families can join The Pirate Captain and his crew in Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, the stop-motion comedy that blends high-seas adventure with a trip to Victorian London.
After the film, children will be able to take part in creative activities inspired by the story. Crafts include designing treasure maps and imagining mythical creatures from the deep.
The Little Mermaid – Sunday 8 February, 11am

The festival rounds off its family strand with Disney classic The Little Mermaid, introduced by the Nautical Archaeology Society.
Before Ariel sings her way onto the screen, children can learn more about real-world underwater discoveries and how archaeologists uncover history beneath the waves.
Both screenings are Pay What You Can, with suggested ticket prices of £6, £8 or £10.
Full festival details, including the wider programme, are available at Archaeo-HeritageFilm.co.uk, with tickets through Bath Box Office.
