Frome-based child and family support charity Purple Elephant is inviting families, volunteers and professionals to join a relaxed, free Community Day taking place on Saturday 7 February.
The drop-in event will run from 10am–1pm at The Key Centre on Feltham Lane.
Families can arrive at any time to enjoy activities, meet the team and share ideas about what support and services would make the biggest difference locally over the next year.
Purple Elephant works with children and families across Frome, running popular projects including Holiday Activities, the Children’s Festival, Stay and Play sessions and one-to-one Befriending. The Community Day is open to those already familiar with the charity as well as people who are completely new to what it offers.
Service Manager Sue Willis said, “As well as a fun day with creative and play activities onsite, there will be refreshments, including a buffet lunch available, and plenty of opportunity to meet our staff and trustees who would like to know what your priorities are for the next year, for families.”
She added, “We’d like to hear, right now in Frome, what are the biggest challenges and struggles people are facing. That will help us shape our future service provision. Oh, and we promise, no post-it notes, no ‘discussion tables’, no whiteboards!
“It’s a fun, informal chatty time in a warm space, with food if you want it, plus games for the youngsters (and the adults, if they want to join in).”
Alongside families, the charity is encouraging attendance from volunteers, community workers and other organisations supporting children and young people in the area.
