Wiltshire Libraries go all in for National Year of Reading 2026

Wiltshire Libraries are marking the National Year of Reading 2026 with author visits, family events and free digital books for members.

Wiltshire Libraries are joining the National Year of Reading 2026, a UK-wide campaign designed to help people of all ages rediscover the joy of reading and make it part of everyday life.

The campaign, called Go All In, focuses on connecting reading with things people already enjoy – from sport and music to film, food and family time – showing that books can fit naturally alongside busy modern lives.

Throughout 2026, Wiltshire Libraries will host a wide programme of events and activities aimed at bringing communities together and inspiring a love of books.

Families can look forward to author talks, Big Library Reads, creative writing sessions and theatre events, with activities planned for children, young people and adults.

A wide range of authors, illustrators and creatives will be visiting libraries across the county during the year, including Sophie Cleverly, Jenny Pearson, Tom Palmer, Holly Webb, Kristina Stephenson and Jacqueline Crooks, alongside many more.

Wiltshire Libraries are also promoting Big Library Reads, a shared reading experience available to library members through the Libby app.

The first title, Everything is Beautiful and Everything Hurts by Josie Shapiro, is now available as a free eBook and Audiobook for library members to borrow.

Details of Wiltshire Libraries events running up to the end of March are available on the library events pages – libraries.wiltshire.gov.uk/what-s-on#/ – with more activities planned throughout the year.

Library staff and volunteers are also available to help families join the library for free or access digital reading through the Libby app.
