Families across Bradford on Avon are being invited to enjoy an egg-citing Easter Monday as the town’s much-loved Duck Race returns to Westbury Garden on Monday 6 April.
This year’s event is proudly sponsored by children’s swim school Puddle Ducks, with the fun starting from 10am and the big race taking place at 12 noon.
Every year, hundreds of people flock to town for what has become a real highlight of the local calendar. With stalls and entertainment set to add to the atmosphere, it promises to be another fantastic family day out by the river.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning, ducks cost just £2 and can be sponsored at the Tourist Information Centre and a range of town centre businesses, including Piha, the library (Bridge Street), Dible & Roy, The Bolthole Café, The Three Horseshoes, The Mill Café, Footloose, FIG, Tudor Cards, The Dandylion, Vitality Day Sanctuary and Shambles Nursery.
Organisers will be sharing more details about stalls and entertainment soon, but they have already revealed the impressive list of prizes up for grabs.
First place will win £200 worth of children’s swimming lessons from Puddle Ducks. Second place receives two lifestyle cushions from Dible & Roy, while third place wins an afternoon cream tea for two at the Bridge Tea Rooms.
There’s also a Lucky Duck prize of tea and cake for two at The Bolthole Café, adding even more reason to get involved.
The ever-popular Business Duck Race also makes a triumphant return this year, bringing plenty of friendly rivalry to the water. Local businesses will go head-to-head, each hoping to knock last year’s champion, Casa Bella Furniture, off the top spot and claim the coveted Business Duck trophy.
