Sixteen Year 8 pupils and 14 kickers from across the Senior School took part in a morning focused on passing accuracy under pressure, followed by a specialist place-kicking clinic. The pupils explored both the technical detail of kicking and the mindset required to perform under match conditions.

Throughout the session, Wilkinson challenged pupils to think differently about training habits, decision-making and execution. He also shared insights from his own elite career, explaining the mental processes and preparation that underpin successful goal-kicking.

Sean Lilley, Head of Rugby at KES, said, “It was an incredible experience for our Year 8 pupils and kickers to learn from the very best. Hearing how Jonny mentally prepares before taking a kick, the process he goes through and the focus required, was truly inspiring.”

He added, “Combined with the hands-on technical coaching and individual guidance, the session will undoubtedly stand out as a highlight of their school and sporting lives. We are also delighted to support the Global Rugby Players Foundation and the vital work it does to help players transition into life after professional rugby.”

Karina Murtagh, Interim CEO at the Global Rugby Players Foundation, said, “It’s great to see the success of this session. A huge thanks to Jonny for leading such a fantastic morning, and to all the pupils for getting involved in support of GRPF. What a memorable day for everyone.”
