Two Sixth Form students at Kingsbury Green Academy, a secondary school in Calne with a thriving Sixth Form, are celebrating after receiving offers from the University of Cambridge.
Susannah has been offered a place to study architecture. Her interest in heritage and conservation made Cambridge her first choice.
“I was offered a place to read architecture at Cambridge University. With my speciality being historic architecture and conservation, I felt there was no place better than Cambridge to study where I will be surrounded by it. The atmosphere on my visit was very welcoming and my talks with the academic staff really encouraged my choice.”
Rory has secured an offer to study mathematics, a subject he has loved for many years.
“I will be reading mathematics at Cambridge University. I’ve always had a deep-rooted love for maths; I love solving and understanding puzzles. Cambridge has an incredible history in producing mathematicians and is a highly prestigious university. It has been a dream of mine for quite some years to study maths there.”
Liam Collins, Head of Sixth Form, praised both students’ achievement.
“We are incredibly proud of Susannah and Rory. Their offers from Cambridge reflect not only exceptional academic ability but also the passion, curiosity and drive they bring to their studies every day. They are wonderful role models for our younger students, and this achievement is richly deserved. We cannot wait to see all they will accomplish in the years ahead.”
He added that the whole school community is celebrating their success as they prepare for the next stage of their academic journeys.
