Pupils at Saint Edmund’s Catholic Primary School in Calne are already benefiting from a newly transformed open-plan learning space.
The school, which is part of the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust, completed the project during the half-term break. Two classrooms were knocked through and redesigned with the support of staff and families.
School leaders say the impact has been immediate.
The new space has created a more inviting environment for pupils, giving them greater freedom to explore, interact and work together. It also offers more flexibility for teaching and allows children to take on larger and more ambitious projects.
Teachers have already seen a positive change in engagement and teamwork, with pupils making the most of the opportunities to create, experiment and develop their ideas.
The school hopes the redesigned classroom will benefit not only pupils but also the wider community by providing an inspiring setting where learning, creativity and collaboration can flourish.
The project also supports Saint Edmund’s wider curriculum vision, helping children to explore their creativity, build confidence and develop new skills in an environment that reflects the school’s Catholic values.
