Pupils at Batheaston Church School were given a memorable boost when Zack George, better known as Steel from Gladiators, visited to share his story.
The school was buzzing as he arrived, with children immediately drawn in by his energy and down-to-earth approach.

Steel spoke about his childhood and how his dream of becoming a Gladiator began at a young age. He explained the challenges he faced along the way and how determination and self-belief helped him overcome them.
A strong focus of his talk was the importance of healthy living. He encouraged pupils to make positive everyday choices, highlighting the role of good nutrition, regular exercise and staying hydrated in achieving their goals.
The children listened intently and were clearly inspired by both his journey and his message. Many said afterwards that they felt motivated to work harder and take better care of their health.
After the talk, pupils had the chance to meet Steel in person, an experience that quickly became the highlight of the day. Excitement spread through classrooms as children shared their stories of meeting a ‘real-life Gladiator’.
The visit left a lasting impression across the school, reinforcing messages of resilience, wellbeing and aiming high.
