Under glorious sunny skies on Saturday, the Bath Beat at Ralph Allen School welcomed an impressive 396 participants.
Walkers and runners of all abilities took on the scenic 12.5, 17, 21 and 26.5 mile routes, creating a vibrant atmosphere of challenge, camaraderie and celebration.
Participants were supported throughout the day by five well-stocked checkpoints, each packed with homemade treats and generous donations. Parents and staff contributed cakes, students baked fresh scones, and local partners including Lidl and Tesco helped ensure a wide selection of refreshments.
Additional support came from Mulberry Hub Café, Prior Park Garden Centre, Aspens, Arthur David, The Meeting Place Café, Pudding Kitchen and Flourish, all of whom played a key role in making the event such a success.
Operational support from RaceAhead ensured a smooth and efficient experience, with bibs and timing chips helping to streamline check-in and check-out for participants.
Feedback from those taking part highlighted both the organisation and the welcoming atmosphere.
One participant said, “The organisation and aid stations were super as usual, but this year the cheese rolls were superseded by the ice lollies as my favourite!!!”
Another added, “I just want to say a big thank you to all the people who made this event happen. It was so well run from start to finish. My husband and I did it yesterday for the first time. I knew it would be a challenge for me but I managed it and really enjoyed it. We lucked out on the weather too. Thank you again to all those people, including the children, who gave up their time to make it so good.”
With such strong community backing and glowing feedback, organisers are already looking ahead to next year.
Plans are underway to build on this year’s success and continue growing what has become a highlight in Bath’s family events calendar.
