The project culminated in a lively samba procession through the village during the popular Bank Holiday Monday event, with additional support for the performance provided by the Box Revels Committee.

The workshops and parade were led by Jamma de Samba, a well-known samba group which regularly performs at events including the Bath Carnival.

Mariana Lewis from Friends Of Box School (FOBS) at Box Church of England Primary School said, “We’re incredibly grateful to The Bingham Trust and the Box Revels Committee for making this opportunity possible. It’s been wonderful to see every child involved, building confidence, teamwork and a real sense of community through music. The performance at Box Revels was exciting and full of energy and colour, we all loved every moment.”

The project gave children the opportunity to develop musical skills while taking part in a shared community celebration enjoyed by families and residents across the village. Teachers, parents and spectators gathered to watch the colourful procession, which brought the sounds of samba to the heart of the annual revels celebration.

The school said the project highlighted the value of community partnerships in creating memorable experiences for children and helping pupils grow in confidence through creativity and performance.
