Families can enjoy the new Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail at Dyrham Park this May half term with outdoor challenges, play and family fun.

Families can head to Dyrham Park this May half term for a brand-new outdoor adventure as the National Trust teams up with Pokémon for an exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game Mega Evolution Trail.

Running from Saturday 23 May, the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail invites children and parents to search for 10 Mega Evolution Pokémon hidden across 10 trail points around the estate, while taking part in creative and physical challenges inspired by different Pokémon characters.

The family-friendly trail encourages children to get outdoors, explore nature and build confidence through imaginative play. Young trainers can discover challenges linked to Pokémon including Darkness-type Mega Gengar ex and Fire-type Mega Charizard Y ex, with each activity designed to encourage movement, curiosity and teamwork.

Families will receive a trail sheet to help track their discoveries and, after completing the adventure, can celebrate with a special photo opportunity at the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail backdrop.

Elizabeth Marshall, Experience and Programming Manager for the National Trust at Dyrham Park, said, “We’re really excited to be teaming up with Pokémon TCG to bring something a little different to Dyrham Park this May half term. Whether you’re a long-time Pokémon fan or discovering it for the first time, the trail is a brilliant way for families to get outdoors together, have fun and make some memories in the fresh air.”

The Pokémon trail is included with normal National Trust admission and is free for National Trust members.

Families can also make a full day of their visit during half term, with plenty of extra activities around the estate. Children can build their own obstacle courses on the grass near the house using hurdles, cones and stepping stones, while the Old Lodge play area features climbing frames, giant Jenga, dominoes and play kitchens.

Building blocks will also be available at visitor reception for spontaneous play sessions throughout the day.

After exploring, families can enjoy picnics in the parkland or stop for ice creams, cream teas and refreshments at the café in the parkland or the main tea-room near the house and gardens.

Located just off Junction 18 of the M4, around eight miles north of Bath and 12 miles east of Bristol, Dyrham Park offers an easy family day out during the school holidays. The site is open daily from 10am-5pm, with last entry at 4pm.
