Share your views and help shape childcare in Wiltshire

Wiltshire Council is asking parents and carers to complete a short survey to help shape future childcare provision and support for families across the county.

Parents and carers across Wiltshire are being encouraged to take part in a new survey to help shape the future of childcare provision across the county.

Wiltshire Council is asking families to share their views on current and future childcare needs, including the types of childcare they use, the hours they require, affordability and any gaps in local provision.

The feedback will help the council better understand what families need and support future planning to ensure there is sufficient high-quality childcare available across Wiltshire.

The survey is open to all parents and carers of children living in Wiltshire, whether they currently use childcare or not.

Councillor Jon Hubbard, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services at Wiltshire Council, said, “Making sure families can access the right childcare, in the right places, is essential to giving children the best start in life and supporting parents to work, train or study. This survey is a vital opportunity for parents and carers to tell us what is working well and where more support is needed.

“Responses will help us meet our statutory duties and shape future childcare provision in line with Our Wiltshire Plan, which sets out our commitment to supporting people throughout their lives and giving children the best possible start. I would strongly encourage parents and carers across the county to take a few minutes to complete the survey and help shape the future of childcare in Wiltshire.”

The council is also encouraging people to share the survey with friends, relatives and other families living in Wiltshire to help ensure as many voices as possible are heard.

Parents and carers can complete the childcare needs survey here Wiltshire childcare survey. The survey closes on Friday 29 May.
