Families looking for a hands-on summer holiday activity can dig into history at The Roman Baths with the return of Archaeology Adventures.
Designed for children aged six to 12, the interactive sessions give young visitors the chance to experience what it’s like to be a real archaeologist while exploring one of Bath’s most famous historic attractions.
Children will investigate Roman remains before taking part in their own mini excavation, digging for replica Roman artefacts in a specially created trench. Along the way, they’ll learn how archaeologists identify, record and carefully uncover objects from the past.
The activity encourages children to discover, investigate, identify and reconstruct artefacts while learning more about Roman Britain in a fun and engaging way.
Each session lasts around 30 minutes and takes place at 11am and 12pm, Monday to Friday, from 23 July to 28 August.
Places cost £6 per child, in addition to admission to The Roman Baths, and numbers are limited. Advance booking is recommended.
