Students at Kingsbury Green Academy are celebrating another year of improved Post-16 results, with progress across both academic and vocational qualifications.
The Calne school reported increases in both its average points scores and value-added scores, while students taking General Applied qualifications achieved an average grade of Distinction. There were also a number of impressive individual performances, including Rory Anderson, who achieved three A* grades and an A across his A-Levels. He has secured a place at the University of Cambridge to study Mathematics.
Fellow student Amelia Fisher achieved three A* grades and will now progress to the University of Sheffield to study Geography.
Nicola Bull, Headteacher of Kingsbury Green Academy, said, “We are incredibly proud of all our students and everything they have achieved. These results reflect not only their hard work and determination, but also the support of our dedicated staff and families. It is particularly pleasing to see further improvement in both our academic and vocational outcomes, demonstrating the strength and breadth of the provision we offer.”
The academy’s sixth form provides both academic and vocational routes, with students progressing to a variety of destinations after completing their studies.
Many of this year’s students have secured places at universities including Cambridge, Cardiff and Bristol, while others are moving on to apprenticeships and employment.
Liam Collins, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, said: “Whether students are progressing to university, apprenticeships or employment, they leave us well prepared for the next stage of their journey. We wish them every success for the future. Today is a proud day for us all.”
Staff welcomed students back into school on results day to collect their grades and celebrate their achievements, with the latest results continuing a period of improvement for the academy.
