Students and staff at Kingsbury Green Academy (KGA) in Calne are celebrating further improvements in GCSE results, with the school continuing its upward trajectory across key performance measures.
This year saw a 3% increase in the proportion of students achieving a strong pass, Grade 5 or above, in both English and Mathematics, alongside a similar increase in the number securing a standard pass, Grade 4 or above, in the two subjects.
Headteacher Nicola Bull said, “We are delighted to see further improvements in our GCSE outcomes and incredibly proud of what our students have achieved. These results are a testament to the hard work, determination and resilience shown by our young people, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff and families.
“It is particularly pleasing to see more students achieving strong passes in English and Mathematics, as these qualifications provide vital foundations for future study, training and employment. Every student’s journey is unique, and we are immensely proud of the progress and achievements of this year’s cohort.”
Alongside the improving overall outcomes, a number of students achieved exceptional individual successes.
- Zack T celebrated an outstanding set of results, achieving a Distinction* in Sport alongside an impressive range of Grade 8s and Grade 7s across his GCSE subjects.
- Rowan B secured the highest Grade 9s in both Film Studies and History, complemented by a strong profile of Grade 8s across her other qualifications.
- Sienna G also achieved exceptional outcomes, gaining a Distinction* in iMedia, a Grade 9 in English Literature and a range of Grade 8s across her remaining subjects.
Mrs Bull added, “We are thrilled to celebrate these individual achievements, which reflect not only academic excellence but also the ambition, dedication and resilience that our students have shown throughout their time at Kingsbury Green Academy.
“Zack, Rowan and Sienna are wonderful examples of young people who have worked hard, attended well, embraced challenges and made the most of every opportunity available to them.”
Students from the Class of 2026 will now move on to a wide range of destinations, including A-Levels, vocational study and apprenticeships, with many choosing to stay at KGA for Sixth Form. Kingsbury Green Academy congratulated all students on their results and thanked staff, parents and carers for their continued support as the Class of 2026 prepares to take its next steps.
