Students at Royal High School Bath, GDST are celebrating an impressive set of GCSE results, with more than 20% of all grades awarded at grade 9 and almost half at grades 9-8.
The Class of 2026 also achieved 98% of grades at 9-4, reflecting the hard work and determination of students across a broad range of subjects.
Head Heidi-Jayne Boyes said, “We are incredibly proud of all our students and everything they have achieved. These results reflect not only their academic talent, but also their determination, curiosity and commitment to embracing the full range of opportunities available to them.
“This year’s group has immersed itself in every aspect of school life, from sport, DofE and charitable initiatives to leadership roles and the performing arts. Their success is a testament to their hard work, character and determination alongside the commitment of our teaching staff in delivering high-quality lessons and supporting them to achieve their best.
“We are delighted that so many will continue their journey with us in our Sixth Form, where they will be empowered to pursue their ambitions and prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow.”
Strong results were recorded across the curriculum, including languages, humanities, creative arts, STEM subjects and Design & Technology. Many of the students will now become the first cohort to experience the full range of opportunities available through Royal High Bath’s Future Focused Sixth Form.
Alongside a wide choice of A-Levels, students will be able to choose electives and enrichment opportunities designed to reflect their individual strengths, interests and aspirations.
Options range from Criminology and the CISI Financial Services Certificate to Sports and Dance Leadership and Leiths’ Confident Cookery Course. Students will also take part in a new Future Skills programme, specifically designed to help girls develop the skills to negotiate 21st century life.
The programme aims to broaden learning beyond the traditional curriculum and prepare students for university, careers and a rapidly changing workplace.
Members of the Class of 2026 are now looking ahead to pathways including Medicine, Engineering, Creative Arts, Languages, Business, Sport and the Humanities.
Royal High Bath’s Sixth Form Open Evening for 2027 entry takes place on Friday 25 September, giving families the opportunity to find out more about the Sixth Form curriculum and wider opportunities available.
