Pupils at St Margaret’s Prep in Calne are celebrating after raising an impressive £2,789.65 for Guide Dogs UK through a year of fundraising activities.
The children chose Guide Dogs UK as their school charity and spent the year coming up with fun and creative ways to raise money, including a Colour Run and Enterprise Week, when pupils ran their own stalls and sold their creations.
Their efforts culminated at the school’s Prizegiving Day, where members of the School Council presented a giant cheque to George, a representative from Guide Dogs UK.
Alex Hopkins, Head of Prep at St Margaret’s, said, “This remarkable fundraising achievement reflects the very best of our school community. From the Colour Run to Enterprise Week, our pupils embraced every opportunity to make a difference, raising an incredible £2,789.65 for Guide Dogs UK. We are immensely proud of their commitment, kindness and determination, and grateful to all the families and staff who supported them along the way.”
There was an extra reward for the pupils too. Having raised more than £2,500, St Margaret’s has earned the opportunity to name a guide dog puppy, with the school now looking forward to finding out what name the children will choose.
