A prize-winning T-shirt designed by a student from the Bath South & Midsomer Norton Kumon Centres has raised £123 The Children’s Society and the Children’s Hospice South West.
The T-shirt was designed by Oliver (pictured about with his sister Sofia), as the result of a competition set by his Kumon tutor, Jacqui Knowles. “Last year I asked the students to draw a picture of me,” explained Jacqui. “It was a great success and I had to put my thinking cap on to come up with and even better competition for this year.”
As Kumon has recently launched a Refer a Friend scheme, Jacqui asked her students to design a T-shirt with this as the theme. She was inundated with entries and her judges had the difficult task of picking the top three for each age category and an overall winner.
The overall winning design has now been converted into a T-shirt which Jacqui will be selling to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West and The Children’s Society. So far 20 T-shirts have been sold, raising £123 in the process.
