Popular Lackham Lambing Weekends to return in the spring

Lackham

Dates have been confirmed for the return of Wiltshire College & University Centre’s popular Lackham Lambing Weekends in March.

Wiltshire College & University Centre’s ever-popular Lackham Lambing Weekends will return in the spring.

Two fantastic family-fun weekends will be held at WCUC’s Lackham campus in late March, with separate events taking place on Saturday 18th March, Sunday 19th March, Saturday 25th March and Sunday 26th March. All events run from 10am-4pm, with last entry at 2.30pm.

The events have proved hugely popular in the past and more than 10,000 people attended across the four dates last year.

Attendees will get to see new-born lambs, watch the dairy herd being milked – with all milk being supplied to a famous chocolate manufacturer – and visit the calves, cows, pigs and donkeys at the campus’ farms.

Phil Steans, Farm and Estate Manager at WCUC’s Lackham campus, said: “Everyone at WCUC is looking forward to our 2023 Lambing Weekends. We were delighted to learn they were just as popular as ever 12 months ago when they returned after an enforced break due to the pandemic.

“We started these events nearly 30 years ago and people absolutely love them. Over the years we’ve grown from a one-day activity to four events across separate days due to the interest.

“These events really are a great day out for all the family and we will have a range of exciting activities going on across all four dates, so please join us if you can.”

Other activities taking place across the two weekends will include a mini farmers’ market, including meat from the Lackham Estate, a variety of food and beverage stalls, visits to the site’s robotic dairy, tractor and trailer rides and a range of children’s activities.

It is advised to book early and tickets are on sale now. Tickets must be booked in advance and there will be no tickets available to purchase on the gate. Tickets are valid for the day of purchase only.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults (over 16), £8 for children (3 and over) and £29 for a family ticket (maximum 6 people). Children under the age of 2 can enter for free. Only Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs are allowed on site.
