This first course covers ethical considerations when treating wildlife, health and safety, wildlife rescue techniques and equipment, cleanliness, hygiene and biosecurity, and a Q&A session. Courses are run online as ‘live’ or recorded. Species-specific course focusing on hedgehogs for those who have completed Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release Courses and/or have some good foundation knowledge of the rehabilitation of hedgehogs. The course will include the ecology and biology of hedgehogs relevant to their assessment and triage for treatment, rehabilitation and release, care of hedgehogs whilst in captivity, some of the common reasons for admissions of hedgehogs to vets and wildlife centres, and the care of neonatal and juvenile hedgehogs.
