Medieval Weekend at Bishop’s Palace, Wells
Historical re-enactment group and medieval weapons experts Bowlore will be giving displays throughout the day, with demonstrations, and choreographed combat using longbows, pallaxes, Dane hammers, Falchion and Langmesser. In addition, at The Black Dog, Bowlore’s weapons and armour tent, you will have the opportunity to see Medieval life and members will be available to share their expertise and answer questions.

Father Christmas at The Bishop’s Palace, Wells
Make your way through the decorated rooms to find Mother and Father Christmas’ grotto. Each family will have exclusive time with Father and Mother Christmas a receive a special Christmas gift. Pre-booking required. 19 Decmber: SEND family day. No audio will be played in the Palace buildings and each family will have their own timeslot with Father Christmas with less queuing. Families will be contacted ahead of time to discuss how best suit their individual needs can be supported.

Tony from Raptorcare, will entertain crowds with a day of fantastic flying displays, fascinating information and beautiful birds; displays will take place at 12pm and 3pm. Aimed at all ages of visitor, displays will illustrate how these birds would have been used in Medieval times and why. Marvel at their skill and training as they show off their well-honed moves in front of the audience and in between displays, visitors can have the chance to handle some of the birds.
