The Bishop’s Palace

Once upon a time a Flying Serpent ruled these lands until a Bishop smote the beast with his crozier – skills he learnt in a Chinese monastery – but the creature was not alone and from far off mountains the empty land became new territory to a greater threat! Weave your very own God’s Eye. Known in Spanish as Ojo de Dios, these colourful and spiritual symbols are popular in Latin American countries and can be made by all the family. No need to pre-book, included with admission.

Make your way through the decorated rooms to find Mother and Father Christmas’ grotto. Each family will have exclusive time with Father and Mother Christmas a receive a special Christmas gift. Pre-booking required. 19 Decmber: SEND family day. No audio will be played in the Palace buildings and each family will have their own timeslot with Father Christmas with less queuing. Families will be contacted ahead of time to discuss how best suit their individual needs can be supported.

 Tony from Raptorcare, will entertain crowds with a day of fantastic flying displays, fascinating information and beautiful birds; displays will take place at 12pm and 3pm. Aimed at all ages of visitor, displays will illustrate how these birds would have been used in Medieval times and why. Marvel at their skill and training as they show off their well-honed moves in front of the audience and in between displays, visitors can have the chance to handle some of the birds.
