Bath College has been given a Silver Award by the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF) panel of The Office for Students, who recognises excellent teaching in UK Higher Education providers.
The award has been given to Bath College for the next three years by TEF for ‘delivering high quality teaching, learning and outcomes for its students and consistently exceeding rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education’.
The college offers a wide range of Access to Higher Education courses, as well as over 30 Higher Education qualifications, Foundation Degrees and Degrees.
Simon Bracken, Head of HE at Bath College, said, “We are delighted to be awarded TEF Silver by panel for our Higher Education provision. We are very proud of our excellent students results and destinations, but to be officially accredited is validation of all the hard work our staff and students do.”
TEF reported that most HE students at Bath College achieve excellent outcomes. In particular, the panel noted that the full-time student rate of progression to highly skilled employment or further study is above the benchmark.
Laurel Penrose, Bath College Principal, commented, “Higher Education is an important part of our work at Bath College and our undergraduate students add to the diversity that makes the college such a special place. We believe that by continuing in education and training and developing higher level skills, you are putting yourself in a very strong position to improve your life chances. For some that will mean improving career prospects and for others it will mean expanding skills and knowledge.
