Churchfields, the Village school at Atworth and Monkton Farleigh, ended a very active school year with a sports week. The children enjoyed a variety of activities including a multi-skills festival, ultimate Frisbee, Nerf games, Battlezone archery and Zorb football. Parents were invited in after school to compete against their children at Zorb football too- obviously the children won!!
While pupil Immy commented, “My favourite activity was Zorb football, it was great fun,” Maisy added, “Sports week has been really great and I thoroughly enjoyed the Nerf gun games.”
Looking back on a sporting year, Churchfields headteacher, Simon Futcher, explained, “Due to the lovely weather we have been having and the amazing effort the School Pool Committee have put in, the children have been able to go swimming every day. This has increased the confidence of the younger children and worked on the stamina of the older children – let’s hope we can continue this in September, weather permitting!”
