Southwick-based charity the Hope Nature Centre is asking schools in the area to help in the naming of its recently arrived Community Bus, kindly donated by the More Bus Group.
The plan is to convert the bus into extra space for school groups, birthday parties and an events space. Work has already started with a local graffiti artist coming up with some wacky designs for the outside of the bus, which will be housed at the Hope Centre’s animal park and cafe, situated just outside of Trowbridge.
Fundraising & Events Manager, Carolyn Robins, said, “We are hoping to involve all local schools and are asking for a list of five names decided by the pupils, with the winning name will be displayed on the bus.”
Schools have been asked to submit their entries by Friday 21 December and the winning school will be invited along to a ‘Naming Ceremony’ at Hope Nature Centre, together with other stakeholders and press.
The Hope Nature Centre is a charity that was set up in 2000 to help provide work placements for young adults with learning difficulties. The added space provided by the bus will have a huge impact on the local schools and communities, and a programme of events and activities are planned for 2019.
